A1 Level 3 NVQ Assessor Award
This course assess trainees working towards National/Scottish Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) and Vocational Recognised Qualification (VRQ), resulting in a NVQ Level 2 in Spectator Safety and a VRQ Level 2 Certificate in Event and Match day Stewarding (CEMS).
Trainees Assessors carryout the following tasks during NVQ/VRQ training and assessments:
- Monitor candidates against a list of occupational standards, by directly observing the person at work, checking a portfolio of written evidence and many other methods.
- Provide feedback to the trainees and offers advice to reassure students, constantly improving the standards of training and feedback.
- Keep accurate written records of individual candidate progress in accordance to the requirements of the NVQ/SVQ/VRQ awarding bodies.
NVQ/SVQ/VRQ assessors are employed by training providers or colleges who have a large caseload of candidates. They may also have to canvass local employers to arrange work placements for trainees.
Many are employed as trainer-assessors, planning and delivering work-related training, as well as carrying out assessments. Those who deal with 16 to 24 year olds, under the Apprenticeship scheme, may also provide training and assessment in the Key Skills of:
- Literacy
- Numeracy
- Communication
- Information Technology
A1 Training course - Level 3 EDEXCEL Certificate
Our training course for the Level 3 certificate is delivered over three days, or during the weekends. The course is broken down into two parts, the theory lessons are covered over two days, followed by a day of live assessments in the candidates working environment.
To be an NVQ/SVQ/VRQ assessor it is required to have the following skills:
- Competency and experience in the occupational area to be assessed
- Excellent communication skills: to explain occupational standards and offer feedback
- Superior motivational skills
- Interest in helping people develop
- Patience and tact
- Ability to relate to staff at all levels
- Proficiency when writing reports and keeping accurate written records.
