The Football Association (FA)
The governing body of the UK football industry, the FA specialises in the rules and regulations that all stadiums, players, coaches and staff must conform to at any given time.
This includes the FA, the FA Premier League and the Football Leagues; safety advisors regularly visit football grounds for assessment and quality assurance.
Football Licensing Authority (FLA)
The FLA is a national governing body that issues licenses to football clubs to admit spectators.
The FLA has the right to inspect the ground conditions and safety procedures, and reserves the right to revoke licenses in breach of statutory agreements.
National Association Disabled Supporters (NADS)
Akona works closely with the NADS to ensure that all football grounds meet the required rules and regulations, ensuring the safety of all disabled supporters.
The members of the NADS are spokespersons for the disabled supporter's community, and rely on the co-operation of governing bodies to ensure that best practice and high standards are maintained.
Security Industry Authority (SIA)
The SIA is an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body. Their mission is to bring together high quality and effective security, and achieve best practice.
Working together with security businesses and governing bodies the SIA have one mission, to help society by collaboratively developing and achieving high standards in the private security industry.
Education
At Akona, we work with a number of academic institutions to make sure that our products and services meet industry best practice and contribute to new ways of learning.
Havering, Northwest London and West London are a few of the colleges that contribute to certifying our courses and assuring that high standards are maintained throughout the course, right until exams are taken.
Local Authorities
The Certifying Authority is the local authority that is responsible for issuing the football club with its safety certificate.
Delegated representatives from the local Certifying Authorities regularly visit licensed grounds to evaluate and monitor best practice standards.
Safety Advisory Group
Each Certifying Authority 'chairs' its own multi-agency advisory group: Safety Officer, Police Service, Fire Brigade, Ambulance Service, etc.
The Police, Fire and Ambulance services are generally in attendance at football grounds all over the country on a match day, making a huge contribution to ensure the safety and security of spectators.
