V1 NVQ/VRQ Internal Verifier (IV) - EDEXCEL Level 4 Award
NVQ/SVQ/VRQ, require training centres to have qualified Internal Verifiers, to manage both NVQ/VRQ training programmes, and NVQ/VRQ A1 Assessors Stewarding (CEMS) programs.
Internal Verifiers perform quality control checks on NVQ/SVQ/VRQ assessors and the training centres. They ensure that the assessment process is carried out properly and that it meets to the Awarding Bodies standards, policy and procedures.
Internal Verifiers carryout the following tasks during training and assessments:
- Manage the NVQ/VRQ programme by providing ongoing feedback to the trainees and assessors
- Monitor candidates and compare to a list of occupational standards by directly observing the person at work, checking a portfolio of written evidence or other methods
- Keep accurate written records of their candidates' progress, according to the requirements of the NVQ/SVQ/VRQ awarding bodies
- Maintain the quality assurances throughout the training programme by organising and conducting meetings for the NVQ/VRQ Assessors
- Coordinate with the Awarding Bodies external verification visits for the training programmes
- The signing off of the candidate's course work to allow the certification to be actioned for the training course NVQs/SVQ Levels 3, 4 and 5 in Learning and Development
V1 Training course - Level 4 EDEXCEL Certificate
This training course, for the Level 4 certificate, is delivered over a number of days or part-time during the weekends.
Management of the a NVQ/VRQ programme: The course has two parts, a two-day theory training programme, followed by arranged visits to the candidates training centre. Those wishing to be a centre Internal Verifier must hold the NVQ Assessors qualification either D32 (old assessor), D33 (old Verifier) or the A1 award.
To be an NVQ/SVQ/VRQ assessor you should posses the following:
- Competency and experience in the occupational area to be assessed
- Excellent communication skills: to explain occupational standards and offer feedback
- Superior motivational skills
- Interest in helping people develop
- Patience and tact
- Ability to relate to staff at all levels
- Proficiency when writing reports and keeping accurate written records.
